Welcome to a space for riotous creativity, fearless education, and literary love.  I believe voice is everything--whether for students in my college classes, workshop participants, or anyone with a wildflower heart, fast pen, and a sharp eye. As a teacher, my job is to connect each student I meet to the power and force of the written word. As a workshop leader, my goal is to inspire creative sparks to light up the embers already smoldering just beneath the surface. Here in this online community space, you can choose your own adventure as to whether you are looking for more academic-based resources or creative ones. I have been a teacher at a local community college for the last twenty-one years. During that time, my students have taught me about patience, kindness, and personal evolution. I have taught them about reading academic texts, writing effective critical works, and rediscovering their confidence in self-expression. Teaching is hard work, but so is learning. We are in the process together and I am continually inspired by my students and their dreams. Creative Resources

As a writer, my work has been published in a variety of magazines, online publications, anthologies, (and even a desk/wall calendar). I have been serious about writing for two decades, but it has been a slow-going process to refine my voice and trust myself and my creative instincts. Currently, I am finishing my fourth novel--though I have not sought publication for the others I've written--and this one feels different somehow...like it is rooted in deeper Earth...like my words are growing in power.
